Rii’s Environmental Services Division possesses a high level of knowledge and expertise for solving difficult environmental issues by addressing health and safety concerns and all regulatory requirements.
Our environmental staff includes Certified Professional Geologists, Certified Asbestos Inspectors and Abatement Designers, Certified UST Inspectors, as well as Professional Engineers who provide environmental services on both large and small projects to national engineering companies, architects, transportation agencies, government agencies, airport authorities, parks and recreation departments, and more.
Project involvement includes conducting on-site investigations, environmental drilling, collaboration with state and federal agencies, and final report preparation. For demolition of facility renovations, our Ohio EPA certified staff can assist in determining the presence and quantity of hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, mercury or PCBs in lighting systems. In addition, we can develop the specifications for bidding and provide abatement oversight. For new site development, we are well-versed in performing environmental site assessments (ESAs), as well as providing wetland delineations, EPA and USACE permitting, and UST investigations and services.
Rii’s knowledge in federal, state, and local regulatory requirements is an asset to all of our client’s projects. We are experienced working with the USEPA, Ohio EPA, State of Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office, USFWS, ODH, OSHA, ODOT, the City of Columbus and the City of Cleveland. We are knowledgeable in applying regulatory laws/compliance requirements to projects and have completed the appropriate certifications and training courses.

In addition to our environmental drilling capabilities, Rii is fully equipped for the proper handling, storage, and transportation of sampled soil and groundwater. This includes Thermo 580B Photo Ionization Detectors (PID), decontamination equipment, storage containers, proper personal protective equipment (PPE), water level indicators, and water well sampling equipment. For environmental services involving asbestos, lead-based paint and indoor air quality concerns, Rii’s environmental staff are properly trained, medically cleared and fit tested for half and full face respirators. Rii has numerous air sampling pumps, calibrators, sample cartridges, tubing and PPE to perform abatement monitoring and clearance sampling.
