The new Student Academic Services Building (SASB) consists of a 71,000 SF building that houses admissions, registrar, financial aid, enrollment services, fees and deposits and student loan disbursements. The SASB relocated core student services from Lincoln Tower to this new facility.

In addition, the project included the new Lane Avenue Parking Garage, which holds 1,398 cars over nine decks.

Rii provided all special inspection and construction materials testing for this project. A challenging aspect of this project was some of the shallow foundations bearing in shale. The project documents required that any shale formations exposed during construction would need to be treated with a bituminous coating in order to mitigate expansion of the shale. An additional challenge was the aggressive fresh concrete testing schedule for the parking garage, which required every load of exterior concrete to be tested for air entrainment. Rii worked closely with the concrete contractor, especially for post-tensioned deck placements, to ensure the concrete loads were tested.

The project, which was completed in 2010, achieved a LEED Silver certification.
