Rii has been chosen to provide Process Quality Control services as part of the winning Design-Build team for construction of the new, nearly $300 million Cleveland I-90 Innerbelt Bridge Project in Cuyahoga County. The team of Walsh Construction and HNTB Ohio Inc. has been chosen to design and build the new bridge which will feature new lighting and stunning arches. This new westbound bridge will be built to carry Interstate 90 traffic. The project began in spring 2011 and is set for an estimated completion date of fall 2013.

The new Innerbelt Bridge will provide Cleveland and Cuyahoga County residents and visitors with many advantages. ODOT hopes the outcome will help to reduce business costs, create jobs, and increase efficient traveling. The bridge is important since it leads directly into downtown Cleveland, with many residents heading into daily jobs, dining options, entertainment activities, sporting events, and more.
In addition, the I-90 Innerbelt Bridge links downtown Cleveland and Interstates 71, 77, 90 and 490 and State Route 176, and carries more than 120,000 vehicles each day.

ODOT employees also hope the new site will relieve congestion, leading to overall improvement of access to the Burke Lakefront Airport, Cleveland Port Authority and Cleveland’s AMTRAK station.
