Rii conducted a subsurface investigation and provided geotechnical design recommendations for the CLI-SR73-11.80 project in southwestern Ohio. The project consisted of a seven-mile bypass around the City of Wilmington in Clinton County, Ohio. The Rii design recommendations were based on seven miles of newly constructed roadway, six bridge structures and more than 30 culverts incorporating more than 200 test borings. Additionally, the project included stabilization design of a proposed slope using geogrid reinforcement in order to enhance the roadway geometrics adjacent to a tributary of Todd’s Fork. The stabilization design utilized primary and secondary reinforcement to protect against both slope instability and shallow erosion of the embankment.
