Rii provided comprehensive asbestos surveys for 42 City of Columbus owned facility sites including wastewater and water treatment plants, dams, electrical substations, pump stations, and city administration buildings. More than 300 building structures were included in the project. First, Rii conducted an internal and external review of previous asbestos surveys. Plan drawings of each structure were converted or developed to AutoCAD.

Rii coordinated the field survey work which resulted in the identification of asbestos-containing materials (ACM). Over time, the condition of ACM changes, and a portion, if not all, of the material is impacted or abated as buildings are renovated or demolished. To assist with tracking of ACM, the Rii Team provided an Access Platform Database System to electronically report results of the asbestos material surveys. This database tracks the quantity and condition of ACM over the life of the material in buildings. Rii developed a final report for each site. The project was completed in 2010.
